The concept of London is the idea of an aged runaway that never went home but really left either. She's in a permanent state of transition. She's older than the cliche runaway youth; she's now in her mid thirties. She's been living in the airport for years for supernatural reasons. She can no longer leave the building, and she is still is unwilling to return home.
Her clothes are collected from lost property and from people coming through. She's taken aspects of her identity from her enviroment. She's become an assimilation of cultures, yet belongs to none herself, and remains outside. Even the clothes she collects she wears differently. Her story explores concepts of isolation, alienation, and transition.
London is heavily pierced, and her appearance is inspired by 'Suicidegirls'. A culture of girls and women who are challenging views of beauty. They are gothic, punk-rock girls with a strong sense of style, and often interested in body modifications such as piercings and tattoos. These girls pose in modern Pin-up glamour photography as they are proud of how they look, and appreciate individualism.
London spends her screentime pacing the boundaries of her enviroment, and experiencing the airport melting into snowladen landscapes. She wears discarded clothing in her own way.
London's season is winter. She can't go outside, but that doesn't mean she can't dream of it. I have chosen snow to represent her, as she herself is frozen. In her unwillingness to move forward or back; she remains still. The frozen landcsape is a metaphor for her inner self.
